Las Vegas, NV – Raymond Verhelst & Associates, a business development, engineering, and marketing organization with strong ties to rechargeable technology and light electric vehicle transport, has joined forces with a global group of experts in the electric bike industry to launch one of the most ambitious consumer experiential marketing campaigns in the country.

The Electric Bike Expo will be a multi-city tour of weekend-long test and demo e-bike events where dozens of manufacturers, distributors, online and local retailers will be showcasing their products to cycling enthusiasts and the general public.

The traveling venue will provide a professional environment where a well-defined test track will allow riders to experience a wide variety of bikes, motor systems and even e-bike related accessories. The fenced route will include a constructed hill designed to test the uphill capacity, a terrain lane with a series of small hills, bumps and banks to highlight mountain bike suspensions, and flat surfaces for urban cycles. Additionally, riders will be able to test the acceleration on a long straightaway.

The new southern Nevada company is Extra Energy Services North America, Inc., which is derived from the highly recognized ExtraEnergy.org conglomerate in Germany that has an extensive relationship with e-bike suppliers, distributors, engineering firms and importers throughout Europe and Asia. The company is a leader in e-bike testing, product marketing, publishing and governmental legislative support.

In addition to ExtraEnergy.org, the group is bringing in the big data applications developer Greenfinder.de, a leading software application provider who has developed one of the most advanced e-bike comparative tools letting visitors to the website match the technical features of multiple bike models, all on one screen. Greenfinder will develop a new digital consumer market research tool to capture data from the thousands of tour attendees and tens of thousands of online readers.

For our media outlet, publisher and editor of North America’s leading information resource for all things e-bike, Pete Prebus and the ElectricBikeReport.com is joining forces to market this new series of face-to-face consumer marketing events, as well as expand the online portal to reach the business-to-business side of the industry.

On the event marketing side, Extra Energy Services NA is adding William Sell, a recognized leader in the marketing and production of large-scale conferences and trade shows around the world. Bill has many accomplishments in through his career, including as Vice President & General Manager of COMDEX in Las Vegas.

It has taken a number of years for the niche market of power-assisted electric bikes to reach a level of recognition among North American recreational cyclists as a viable means to return to bike riding as a fun and healthy physical exercise, even when age has challenged the knees and hips of the baby-boomer generation.

As part of the validation of the market potential, what was initially populated with small, entrepreneurial startups who have developed blended and imported lines of Asian bikes with a classic cruiser style, e-bikes have now been elevated with highly recognized brands such as Bosch and Shimano, building well-engineered electric drives, battery packs and transmissions. The styles have morphed into higher performance sport and specialty bikes and become innovative in style, materials and components.

The Electric Bike Expo will allow both major brands who are adopting these new drive systems to stand alongside the original brands who are continuing to innovate and allow consumers to test each model in a controlled environment, speak to the experts and learn all about the features, performance and maintenance of the bikes.

The tour is scheduled to launch in January 2016 and the initial six-city program will run through June 2016.

To kick this tour off, Extra Energy Services NA has designed The Circuit at Interbike, and will deliver, install and manage the amazing new indoor test track for the next three years with North America’s leading Cycling trade show organizer Interbike. Showcase booths for bike companies, a registration pavilion and all of the terrain features will be incorporated into the indoor experience.

Emerald Expositions is the owner of Interbike and other cycling related events such as the IBD Summit, and through this strategic relationship will be one of the supporting sponsors of the multi-city Electric Bike Expo tour as it travels around the country.

Raymond Verhelst & Associates has taken its years of experiential marketing and event development skills, blended with our in-depth knowledge of e-Bike engineering to create this high performance product experience which will now become an important feature for the annual trade show.

According to Ray Verhelst, “We are bringing in a non-woven, tough floor covering that will coat the more than 1500 feet of track surface and offset the slipping on the typical polished concrete found inside the Mandalay Bay Convention Center.”

The motivation for this project is to support the growing industry by educating the public as well as bring a professional event to targeted markets where cycling has become an important recreational option or a clear alternative for urban transport. Additionally, we are looking at this as an important market research project to gather volumes of intelligence and consumer preferences.

Extra Energy Services North America will also be working with Interbike, the non-profit group PeopleForBikes, and the Interbike team to help to develop the e-bike neighborhood educational tracks that will cover trends, technical and small business development focused on the growing e-Bike dealer network throughout the country.
