Contrary to the belief of many who don’t know much about Southern Nevada and Las Vegas other than the gambling, debauchery, un-ending nightlife and world class shopping, Las Vegas is the world’s largest tradeshow, event and exhibition destination in the world.

One of the benefits of our location is that we have access to more than 22,000 annual industry events held here. Fortunately, this often means that both our existing clients as well as prospects make the pilgrimage to our fair town at least once a year.

One such event is CES, the largest Consumer Electronics Show in the world. Obviously we cover this for a wide variety of objectives. This year we are looking at a number of important show segments that continue to grow. The 3D printing pavilion, the Internet of Things and new advances in Wearables. Obviously, we continue to monitor the expanding EV and UAV segments including the BMW Valet application.

Additional coverage will be on GoGoro who has secretly raised $150 million in funding and has publicly launched an electric-powered scooter during the preview at CES. More importantly is the new battery swapping kiosk and modular platform the company has developed. This is a fresh look at overcoming the distance-challenged Light and Neighborhood electric vehicle barriers consumers often use as a roadblock to purchase.

In the manufacturing direction we are spending time looking at the Fuel3D High Resolution handheld scanner which is in the midst of a KickStarter campaign.

There is so much more that we will review over the next week. Stay tuned to see reports on what we find
