SYMMETRICAL: Mirror Design
In this large island space, we created a mirror image design from left to right, but changed the functionality from front to rear. In this view, there are two glass walled display areas that aloow for the presentation of products from the individual suppliers who were part of the group. The two columns offered literature displays as well as backlit graphic panels. The information desk in the center is where technical and product staff would be available to guide visitors through the different components on display.

ASYMMETRICAL: Lounge & Meeting Space
Opposite the product showcase walls, we offered up matching informal seating areas, two semi-formal conference rooms and facing couches offer up ample conversation areas, which were important as this sat within a breakout area within the technical conference. This was also unique for a Chinese event where casual conversation space within a booth is not common.

LESS Is More: Controlling The Message
We chose to keep the number of graphics to a minimum as well as the amount of copy included on each panel. This was hard as Asian exhibitors love to publish entire books and don't understand white space. We gave each participating company equal space and made sure that each company name did not overshadow another. The tension, translucent fabric ceiling panels were stretched inside the same extruded frames as used for the vertical structures making the design simple and cost effective.
CASE Study: Asian Technology Partner Pavilion
A group of battery manufacturers, material suppliers and assemblers needed to create a showcase within a technical conference that would allow for a highly visible display of products and at the same time, offer both formal and informal meeting areas for small groups and individuals to get together. We used existing aluminum structure available for rent to create this solution. Branding and audiovisual where included but removed from the renderings at the request of the client.

FOCAL Point: Drawing A Crowd
Surrounded by typical pavilion cubicals, this pavilion offered a refreshing space that was enviting and attracted engineers to use the pavilion as a focal point referred to when planning future meetings during the multi-day event. Finding the furnishing rentals that offered high design and functionality was a challenge.
SIMPLE: Design & Construction
Making the design simple can still offer a dramatic presence for one of a number of companies when creating a showcase and gathering place on a crowded showfloor. Making the construction simple means lower costs when estimating both materials and labor.
